Red, White, and Blue M&Ms Make For a Patriotic Treat

The best part about this recipe is that you can customize the colors of M&Ms to match any occasion! For Halloween, try orange and black M&Ms. For the holidays, go with classic red and green M&Ms. And of course, for Independence Day, choose red, white, and blue M&Ms to make your dessert display more festive.

Patriotic Crispy Rice Treats

  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 4 cups marshmallows
  • ½ stick butter
  • 1 ½ cup peanut butter
  • 2 cups red, white, and blue M&Ms

Lightly grease a baking pan with butter and set aside. In a large pot or saucepan over low heat, melt together the butter, marshmallows, and peanut butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the crispy rice cereal, along with some red, white, and blue M&Ms. Leave some M&Ms aside for topping.

Once all of the ingredients are combined, pour the cereal mixture into the greased pan and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle on some additional red, white, and blue M&Ms onto the top of the treats and let cool completely. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.
