Christmas cookies are always a favorite, but if you're looking for a quick and easy treat that you can serve up at holiday parties, at home, or as a stocking stuffer, why not try out our chocolate pretzel bites' Ready in a half hour or less, these festive holiday treats use green M&Ms and red M&Ms to tie in the holiday theme.
What You'll Need to Make These Treats:
- ½ pound mini-pretzels
- Red M&Ms
- Green M&Ms
- Chocolate kisses
- 2 cookie sheets
- Wax paper
Begin by preheating your oven to 170 degrees. Line each cookie sheet with wax paper. Then, place rows of miniature pretzels on each sheet. Put a chocolate kiss on top of each pretzel, centered so that they melt evenly. Then, place the cookie sheets in the oven and bake for four to six minutes, so that the chocolate has enough time to soften.
Remove the cookie sheets from the oven and press a single red or green M&M into the melted chocolate center of each pretzel. Be very careful! The chocolate will be hot. Let the pretzels cool for a few minutes and then place in the refrigerator (still on the sheets), to set for about 10 minutes. Once set, you can serve them or bag them up as stocking stuffers.
To bag them, just get clear cookie or candy bags from your local craft store, ribbon, and gift tags. Place a few pretzels in each bag and tie off with colorful ribbon. Curl the ribbon as an extra special touch and add on a gift tag with a special message.
P.S. ' These treats can be made with other candies besides red and green M&Ms. To stick with the holiday or an elegant party theme, place a walnut, peppermint candy, dried cranberry, or almond into the center of each pretzel. Yum!
